Hello my crafty friends! It’s that time of week again, it’s card spotlight time! I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire on YouTube and her Trapped Emboss Resist video. I made two birthday cards, one for my Aunt and one for you younger cousin.
The card on the right, I used a rainbow of Distress Oxide Inks and blended that onto the background and on the card on the left I used three degrees of a shade of blue. I used and MFT Rose background stamp and one using the Abstract Triangle stamp from Simon Says Stamp. The triangle stamp is one of my favorite background stamps.
I used Ranger Super Fine gold embossing powder to do the sentiment and then I used Copper Rose Jewels from Little Things from Lucy’s Card. I almost used clear but then I spotted these and they were PERFECT. All of the stamps on the inside are from various Simon Says Stamp sets. I stamped them using Versafine Black Onyx Ink. To create the black effect over the rose stamp I used Hero Arts Intense Black Ink
For this card, I used an MFT Steel Blue cardstock for the base. I used the abstract triangle background stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I used three different blue Distress Oxide Inks, starting with Tumbled Glass in the upper left. I used a silver embossing powder that is part of the Michael’s Recollections brand. I didn’t want anything too glittery, since it is going to a young man. The inside once again was created by using two different Simon Says Stamp stamp sets. The gems I used were the Platinum Mix from Little Things from Lucy’s cards. Just like the card above I used the Hero Arts Intense Black Ink for the tresist technique.
If you can’t tell, I love the gems by Lucy’s Little Things- I’ve even gone so far as to order them direct from the buyer… in England. I was surprised by how nice these cards turned out since I had never done Trapped Emboss Resist. God bless Jennifer McGuire. Have you learned any new techniques recently? Please share them down below, I’d love to know!! Have a good start to your week and I will see you on Tuesday! XO💖
